I know I have been inserting more politics on this site, and I don’t like it any more than you do. But what’s a girl to do when Presidential hijinks result in the death of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and now the White House Rose Garden? Melania Trump literally decimated it in 2020 (decimated: “destroying 10% of”), and now the President has completely torn up the rest and covered it in concrete. The garden, first conceived in 1902 for First Lady Edith Roosevelt, and lovingly redesigned and expanded by First Ladies Wilson and Kennedy, has been used for press conferences, awards ceremonies, presidential announcements, and Tricia Nixon’s wedding. Next up: President Trump has announced plans to tear down the White House’s East Wing and replace it with a gold (-colored) theater.

I do scream at the TV a lot when I hear "decimated," "decapitated" (you cannot decapitate a head!) and "that" instead of "who" misused. Working as a copy editor (remember those?) has ruined me for real life.
It's these non-human deaths that are most heartbreaking. The only ray of light is that you used the word "decimated" correctly.
