Beau Starr, 1944 – 2026

Tough-guy actor Beau Starr, who played Lt. Harding Welsh in TV’s Due South, died on April 24. He was 81. The brother of actor Mike Starr, Beau played football for the Montreal Alouettes, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and the New York Jets. From the 1980s through 2013, Starr was a very busy character actor in films and on TV: He played Sheriff Ben Meeker in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and was seen in such shows and movies as Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Hanky Panky, Summer School, Goodfellas, Cinderella Man, T.J. Hooker, The A-Team, Knight Rider, Hill Street Blues, V: The Series, Hunter, Wings, and NYPD Blue, among many others. His last appearance was in Psych.
