Australian actor Ben Lewis, 46, died of cancer on Oct. 6. The son (and brother) of opera singers, he was mostly known for his stage work. Lewis appeared in a handful of TV shows and movies (McLeod’s Daughters, EastEnders), but spent most of his career onstage, both in Australia and on the West End in London. His vehicles (mostly in starring roles) included Spamalot, The Phantom of the Opera, Annie Get Your Gun, Thérèse Raquin, Candide, Love Never Dies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and Urinetown. He is survived by his wife, actress Melle Stewart.
