Actress Dee Freeman, 66, died of cancer on April 2. A former Marine Corps sergeant, DJ, and flight attendant, Freeman appeared onstage at the the (former) Kennedy Center, the Court Theater, and the Colsac Theater. On TV, she had continuing roles in The Hughleys, Pretty the Series, and Do Us Part, and had one-off appearances in The Young and the Restless, NCIS L.A., Dexter, E.R., Crossing Jordan, Boston Public, Six Feet Under, Suddenly Susan, Kenan & Kel, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Caroline In The City, Seinfeld, The X-Files, and others. According to her family, Freeman lived with “with numerous exotic animals including three ball python snakes, a Pacman frog, a bearded dragon, a water dragon, two blue headed tree agamas, two giant African millipedes, a bare eyed cockatoo, several green iguanas, a white rat, a Chilean rose hair tarantula, two dogs, and an ex-husband.”
