Dutch singer and actress Joke Bruijs, 73, died on Sept. 16. Bruijs sang with several pop groups, in cabarets and on TV (she came in fourth in the National Song Contest in 1970, a sort of Rotterdam’s Got Talent). She and her first husband, Gerard Cox (who died last week—hmmmm . . . that's him in the photo with her) costarred in the sitcoms Strange Practices and When Happiness Was Very Common; after their amicable divorce, the two appeared together in the 2022 film Casa Coco. Bruijs also costarred in the TV series La Famiglia, Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden, and De K van Karlijn, and appeared in other series and movies. She is survived by her longtime companion, musician Frits Landesbergen (the two lived on the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire).
