Joyce Piven, 1930 – 2025

Actress, producer, and director Joyce Piven, 94, died on Jan. 19. Piven and her husband, Byrne, founded the Piven Theater Workshop in Illinois, the Playwrights Theater Club, and the Compass Players. Joyce wrote books on acting, and continued to teach acting after she had retired from the field. She is survived by her daughter, actress and director Shira Piven, and her son, actor Jeremy Piven.
