Marlene Warfield, 1941 – 2025

Actress Marlene Warfield, 83, died on April 6, it was just announced. From the 1970s through early this century, she had some splashy roles: as the level-headed black activist in Network, as Maude’s umpteenth maid, and supporting parts in Joe, The Great White Hope, The Name of the Game, Beacon Hill, Lou Grant, The Jeffersons, Little House on the Prairie, Hill Street Blues, The West Wing, and Cold Case. Also a stage actress, Warfield won a Clarence Derwent Award for her Broadway turn in The Great White Hope.
