South African-born British actress Mary Peach, 90, died in January. The delicate-looking blonde began acting in films and TV in the late ’50s (including a nice bit in Room at the Top, as the girlfriend of Lawrence Harvey’s pal). By the 1960s she was costarring in Inside Story on TV, and she went on to act both in movies (Follow That Horse!, A Gathering of Eagles, The Projected Man, Ballad in Blue, Scrooge, and, most recently, 1995’s Cutthroat Island) and on TV (Dr. Who, The Three Musketeers, The Saint, Couples, Crown Court, The Far Pavilions). On Broadway, she played Mrs. Eynsford Hill in a 1980s revival of My Fair Lady. Peach was married to film producer Thomas Clyde and screenwriter and director Jimmy Sangster.
