Glamorous but warmly intelligent actress Patricia Crowley, 91, died on Sept. 13. Crowley was best known as the mom on the 1960s sitcom Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, but her career stretched from the 1950s through the 2010s. She and her sister Ann Crowley were teen models and actresses, and Pat appeared on Broadway in Southern Exposure, Four Twelves are 48 (which closed after one performance), and Tovarich. She spent the 1950s as a starlet in just about every TV anthology series. Besides her 1965-67 run in Daisies, she appeared on The Man from UNCLE, Judd for the Defense, Marcus Welby, Columbo, Police Woman, Family, Happy Days, Charlie’s Angels, Falcon Crest, Friends, and The Closer; she also costarred in the short-lived series Joe Forrester and Generations. Crowley was married to powerful agent Ed Hookstratten and producer Ed Friendly; her son Jon Hookstratten is Executive Vice President of Administration & Operations for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
