Stage, screen, and TV actress Paula Shaw, 84, died on Sept. 10. Shaw began her career onstage in New York, and moved to L.A., where she appeared in Gus Weill’s Geese, and was a member of the Synergy Trust improv group (gawd how I hate improv). Beginning in the 1970s, she turned up in TV’s Ironside, Starsky and Hutch, Little House on the Prairie, Barney Miller, Three’s Company, The X-Files, and iZombie, and had roles in such movies as Freddy vs. Jason and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, as well as numerous Hallmark Christmas movies. Shaw also costarred in the Canadian sitcom Mr. Young (2011-13). When not acting, Shaw led chuckleheaded New Age EST and Esalen Institute seminars.
