Actor and stuntman Ronnie Rondell, Jr., 88, died on Aug. 12. The son of actor and director Ronald Rondell (and the father of two stuntmen, one of whom died while filming Airwolf in 1985), Rondell formed the company Stunts Unlimited. From the late ’50s through 2003, Ronnie, Jr., performed (and coordinated) stunts in some 160 films and TV series, including The Wings of Eagles, Spartacus, Hoew the West was Won, Gunsmoke, The Great Race, Grand Prix, Diamonds are Forever, Blazing Saddles, Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty, The Karate Kid, La Bamba, The Hunt for Red October, and Grosse Pointe Blank. He also played small roles and assistant-directed, and was known to rock fans as the Burning Man on the cover of Pink Floyd’s 1975 album Wish You Were Here (Rondell burned his moustache off during that shoot).
