Sally Grace, 1951 – 2026

British voice actress Sally Grace, 74, has died, her family announced on June 4. A great impressionist (as in Rich Little, not Claude Monet—The Guardian called her Margaret Thatcher "more terrifying than the real thing"). Grace was a regular in the radio shows Week Ending, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, and The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul. She was also a regular voice on the animated shows Mr. Bean: The Animated Series (I hate Mr. Bean as much as I love Black Adder), The Animals of Farthing Wood, Dennis the Menace (a completely different character than the US Dennis), Space Island One, Pettson and Findus, and Pongwiffy. She also appeared on Coronation Street (the Murder, She Wrote of England—everyone appeared on it!). She also acted frequently onstage.
