Australian actress Wendy Playfair, 99, died on March 11. A descendant of politician Thomas Playfair (as well as being a relative of Olympic swimmer Judy Playfair, TV exec David Leckie, and the Sydney Theatre Company’s Kip Williams), she started her career on radio and in the theater. She played Minnie Donovan, a Prisoner of Cell Block H (1983-84), and costarred in the Geena Davis film Accidents Happen. Among her other movie and TV vehicles were The Affair, Homicide, Matlock Police, Say You Want Me, Glenview High. Fortress, Return to Eden, A Country Practice, All Saints, Home and Away, Spirited, and Packed to the Rafters.
